• COVID-19 Protocols in Korea
    The Republic of Korea Government decided to downgrade the legal status of COVID-19 to class 4 from class 2 infectious disease and implement the second phase of the COVID-19 alert level adjustment road map at the Central Disaster Management Headquarters meeting on August 23rd. Alongside this adjustment in the alert level, the KDCA eased all COVID-19 prevention and control measures, which includes the removal of mandatory isolation and indoor mask-wearing mandates. Additionally, the PCR testing requirement for border arrivals, recommended to be taken within three days after entry, and the Q-Code necessity, will no longer be in effect.
  • Travelers Insurance
    For the safety of conference participants, it is highly recommended that they obtain medical and travel-related insurance. Conference organizers will not be liable for any medical expenses and/or losses or damages to personal property incurred during the 2023 MOEF-BOK-FSC-IMF International Conference.
  • Weather
    Korea has a mild climate with four distinctive seasons. The migratory anticyclones make for a sunny and dry spring and autumn, whereas the country’s summer is heavily affected by the hot and humid North Pacific anticyclone. During winter, the effect of the continental anticyclone from the north keeps the country dry and cold. The average temperature in mid-December in Seoul ranges between -2˚C (28.4˚F) and 8˚C (46.4˚F).
  • Time Difference
    Korea is located within a single time zone. Korean Standard Time (KST) is Greenwich Mean Time +9 hours (UTC+9). Korea does not observe daylight saving time.
  • Electricity
    The standard electricity supply in Korea is 220 volts AC/60 cycles. The majority of hotels in Korea has both 110- and 220-volt wiring. Also, an outlet converter will be available in each room. USB and USB-C plugs are also common.
  • Currency
    The official currency of the Republic of Korea is the Korean won (KRW). Paper currency is available in denominations of 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, and 50,000 won bills. Coins are available in 1, 5, 10, 100, and 500 won denominations (1 and 5 won coins are not commonly used).
  • Credit Cards
    Major credit cards, such as Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Diners Club, are all widely accepted by merchants and businesses in Korea.
  • International / Mobile Phone Roaming
    Calling abroad from Korea: Enter the international call service provider number, country code, area code, and phone number.

  • Medical Facilities for International Travelers
    Many of Korea’s large hospitals operate an International Health Care Center that caters to international visitors. These centers offer top-notch medical services and have expert translators available to assist with the entire process, from reservations to treatment and follow-up appointments. The hospitals below are all relatively close to the conference venue hotel.
