Alessandra CILLO
Associate Professor (BPER BANK Chair), LIUC University
Alessandra Cillo is Associate Professor in Applied Mathematics at LIUC University, where she holds the BPER Bank Chair in Business Analytics. She also teaches at Bocconi. After her Ph.D. in Management at INSEAD (2007), she was Assistant Professor at IESE Business School (2007-2009) and at Bocconi (2009-2018). She is affiliate at several research centers, among which IGIER and Baffi Carefin, as well as SUERF fellow. She serves as member of numerous committees, inside and outside the university. She won several awards for excellence in research and reviewing. She publishes extensively in top international refereed journals among which Management Science and Operations Research. Her research interests are in decision sciences and behavioral economics, where she combines standard principles of economics with psychology to help people making better decisions in risky contexts. Her theoretical and experimental results have relevant applications that range from decision analysis to operation research, medical decisions making, digital money and risk analysis. In recent years, her research has broadened to understand the interaction between machine learning models - that can synthesize information in large amounts of data- and humans that operate under unique circumstances to complement the algorithmic output.
